Updated action item overlay

DATE:
AUTHOR: The Compute Software team

We have redesigned the action item overlay to bring greater transparency to how recommendations are calculated.

Status

At the top of the overlay, you will continue to see the overall Status of the action item: "Open," "In Progress," or "Resolved."

Action Item Net Value and Discount Credits Applied

Net Value is the value of resolving this action item. Net Value is the sum of Effective Provider Cost Savings and Performance Cost Savings.

Under Performance Cost Savings, you may find that CPU and / or Memory are listed as the bottlenecks that impact performance. This information informs you of whether the lack of CPU or Memory capacity is affecting the performance of your workload and resource.

Under Net Value, you will find a section called Discount Credits Applied. In this section, see any of the available discount commitments that are being applied to the recommendation. We evaluate every discount shared across all accounts and all resources, and we apply your discounts to ensure that those discounts are maximized and the best possible resources are recommended.

Current Resource

Below the action item's Net Value, you will find detailed information about the current resource you are using.

Tasks and Discounts Packages Applied

Under Tasks, you may choose a particular Task to work on and update its corresponding status. If a Task does not appear to be valid, you may choose an Alternative Task to work on.

For more information about managing a Task's status, refer to our documentation.

You will now find information about discount packages that have been applied to the current and / or recommended machines. This provides greater transparency into how the recommendations are calculated.

Resource Metrics

You will continue to find the current resource's utilization metrics under the Resource Metrics section.

Property Groups

A new Property Groups section displays all Property Groups that have been put in place to finely tune your recommendations.

For more information about Property Groups, refer to our documentation.
